A brief description of the book:

"When on an expedition, far from everything considered safe, fighting for your life, you are closer to understanding the world and yourself than ever before. It's as if every action echoes in eternity."
560 km in the realm of ice. In the spring of 2022, Nóra Vámos and Gábor Rakonczay completed one of the toughest ultra-distance polar challenges, the crossing of Greenland, without resupply or external assistance, proudly representing Hungary. While the press covered their expedition, the book by the successful duo reveals how to meticulously organize such an undertaking, the preparatory process required for even a near-complete beginner to take on extreme challenges, the hidden dangers of everyday life in Greenland, the lessons learned about happiness during an expedition, and why the authors recommend embracing a slightly greater risk in all our lives.
Nóra Vámos is a photographer and a mother of three. She made history as the first Hungarian woman to complete an ultra-distance polar challenge and the first woman in the world to cross the icy terrain of Greenland in a pair. In addition to her original profession, she currently gives lectures on perseverance.
Gábor Rakonczay is an extreme athlete, a two-time Guinness World Record holder, and a multiple Hungarian record-holding sailor. He is also an ultra-running world champion. Regularly covering distances of several hundred kilometers, he holds the unique distinction of being the only person in the world to kayak across an ocean. During a 44-day expedition, he reached the South Pole, and he undertook trans-Greenland expeditions twice, the second time in partnership with Nóra Vámos. Gábor has authored 5 books so far, and his goal-setting lectures have been heard by over 250,000 people in 5 countries.
Greenland is the world's largest island, covered by an ice sheet over 2 kilometers thick. The first individuals to traverse the island were the Norwegian explorer Nansen and his companions in 1888. The famous motto of this historic expedition, 'The west coast or death,' has retained its power to this day.
