Briefly about the venture

The east-west crossing of Hungary, the primary purpose of which is to draw attention to the importance of sports and exercise, on the occasion of Hungarian Sports Day. Within the framework of the project, Gábor Rakonczay ran 734 kilometers in 7 days from the easternmost point of the country to the westernmost settlement, through a total of 10 counties and 111 settlements. Sports associations, mayors and many well-known figures of the domestic running community joined the event to run a few kilometers together.

The one-week sporting event followed a rather minimal philosophy, as the upgrade was facilitated by Nóra Vámos with a single bicycle, meaning all the equipment fit in the bicycle bag.

This was Gábor's second crossing of the country. In 2019, he ran together with his friend Ádám Ötvös 681 kilometers in 8.5 days. At that time, they stopped at an elementary school every day and promoted regular exercise, and then they ran around the school with the children before continuing.
